Rain

I went out to take this photo of the rain and evening lights, but realized I was taking a photo of my mailbox with the other elements in the photo as well.  All the mailboxes in our neighborhood are identical, except someone started the fad of putting something on top of the post.  We had a wooden bird there for several years, but he rotted away. The lighthouse I have now had to repainted, and I sprayed it with a preservative, so I hope it lasts.  It is interesting to see what folks have chosen for their mailbox posts.  Probably more than half the about 400 houses in the neighborhood have something on top to add individuality and interest.  As you can see, we are having a spell of daily thunderstorms.
