Mountain Heather

No, it is not cake decoration! Last year was the first time I saw this flower and it was only because of blipping . You could walk right by it and never notice the delicate blooms and buds. It's the state flower of Connecticut and Pennsylvania, but not as common here in Oregon. I chose this picture because it shows all stages of the star shaped buds and the beautiful little flowers. In the middle you can see the one bud opening to reveal the flower. Pretty amazing!!
