The court of the crimson kings
Went to see King Crimson at The Dome in Brighton.... a very hot ticket... and rightly so .... the most amazing concert ...
Apparently the last time King Crimson played Brighton's Dome was 11th December 1972. worth the wait though ...
It's hard to describe the concert, but it made you realise how "thin" and unadventurous a lot of the music we listen to really is - these are highly skilled and mutil talented musicians performing at the peak of their ability. There was no chat,no "Hello Brighton..", no light show, no back projection video, no support band, no interval. They started at 7:30, and finished just before 10. From the first note we were enveloped in their sound world.
All are wonderful musicians but it was a special treat to see Robert Fripp and
Tony Levin.
sorry no haiku, words fail ...
Afterwards we went home to collect the dog and drove up to Cambridge to spend a week away in the caravan .... more of which later ...
