You Are Light

Headache all day, so not sure this will be very coherent, or that this is my best photo, but feeling so grateful for our church, and the wisdom in our minister's sermons today.

We cannot simply look the other way at all this suffering without hardening our hearts - we know it isn't simple and we don't have the answers - but Jesus told us that we are salt - giving flavour and preserving our communities - that was this morning, and we all got a small sachet of salt to put in our pockets to remind us to make a difference.

And tonight was about Jesus telling us that we are like light for the whole world - exposing evil, bringing hope, and giving direction when folk are bewildered, but we can hide that light out of fear or selfishness - so we could light a tea-light if, this week, we want our light to shine - all this to the sound of Bruce Springsteen singing This little light.
