Learning day by day

Happier Girl

What a day. I had to wake Carys this morning in an attempt to catch the 08.30 train to London. The plan had been to queue for day tickets for the Deloitte Ignite 2015 Festival and for her to take part in the following:
Ballet Class with a Twist
with Bim Malcomson
5 September at 10am
6 September at 10am
Covent Garden Piazza
Start your morning at the barre…
Under the guidance of ballet teacher Bim Malcomson start each day of the opening weekend with Ballet Class with a Twist – a mass group event to warm up your bodies and find out more about ballet.

And then see:
Ballet Dressed Up
Hubert Essakow and dancers from The Royal Ballet
6 September at 12.40pm and 4pm
THE FRONT ROOM (Paul Hamlyn Hall)
During this experimental and interactive session, the audience will see the dancers and their movement transform with costume changes. The session demonstrates the extent to which costume can affect choreography, from a technical and emotional perspective.
Original choreography by Hubert Essakow inspired by themes from Romeo and Juliet will be performed by Royal Ballet dancers. The choreography will be performed several times with different costuming for each performance, from traditional ballet costumes, to everyday clothing, to abstract costuming. Hubert will rehearse, transform and adapt the choreography to the costume and the mood it creates, with audience input.

Thanks to over running engineering works it was not to be. So poor was the info given by Great Northern that our train wasn't announced as delayed until it was 15mins late and only that it was cancelled when it was removed from the board. Unfortunately that meant I had told Carys what the plan was and therefore when we couldn't travel there were tears.

As Will was spending the day with N&P we still had a girlie day. We went for lunch at Pizza Express with one of our vouchers and then I took her to see 'Inside Out'. Well that's 1hr40 of my life I will never get back! Thankfully Carys loved it, laughing out loud and crying too. I also bought tickets for the cinema showing of the Bolshoi's Giselle while we were there so that will make her smile too, when I tell her.
