Beer

Spend a nice afternoon with some friends in the region west of Brussels.
First some beers in the café 'In de verzekering tegen de grote dorst' (which roughly translates as 'In the assurance against big thirst'), with an impressive list of rare beers (mainly Gueuze and derivates), a lot of them rather pricy, until you take into account the rareness. I think the most expensive was €120 for 1,5l, the most rare I should think was a beer from 1988 from a brewery nearby that no longer exists. I drank a Boon Marriage Parfait and a 3 Fonteinen Oude Schaarbeekse Kriek (€21 for 75cl).
Then lunch in 'De rare Vos' (The strange fox) where I drank a beer (Kriek Dekoninck) which I thought no longer existed.
Followed by my favorite brewer 3 Fonteinen, with a small tour, and Kriekenlambiek straight from the barrel. No beers in the shop I was looking for, which was the only disappointment of the day.
