Silverweed..

..and the Scourie dykes.

Wave after wave of grey mist and rain. I believe the rest of the country is bathed in sunshine..

It's Sunday, cooked breakfast, Archers, and then a program on Alan Bennett's monologues, Talking Heads. Loved that series on TV and radio..

Walked down through A's croft, and watered his polytunnel, and then on down to ours to inspect deer damage. Saw plenty of droppings on the way down, both on A's and my crofts. Took some pictures of the heavily grazed Oca plants, some have been totally pulled out of the ground. But some are recovering. They will be weeded tomorrow, and covered in fleece.

Took Tanni along the beach, and through N's park to the back of the cemetery. There is a small bay here, one of the famous Scourie Dykes, where the continental plate split and was filled with metadolerite. Here it is a black rock, and forms a fine black sand on the beach. Mixed with seashells, it is very striking..

Dug some potatoes for tea on the way back, and picked peas and broad beans too. G had picked some runner beans from the polytunnel earlier, and with pork chops and gravy, made one of the nicest Sunday teas we've had for some time..
