Red Sky for Sky Blues

I took the teenager to see Coventry play Crewe at the Ricoh Arena.  It was the best Cov game I've seen for some time, and probably the best Cov game the teenager has ever attended?  Shame about the shambles at the ticket office - I realise that didn't leave much time due to getting in late from work - but they knew how many last minute tickets they had sold and should have staffed accordingly.  They had to open the gates at the end and didn't check tickets - people sat where ever they could.  All it would take is to allow people to print their own tickets at home, which nearly all grounds allow now.

It was a very strange game in that Coventry dominated play but were held to 2-2 until very late - it could easily have been 4 or 5 nil.  I though the team played extremely well as a unit, were well organised and have some decent young players coming through.  O'Brien was excellent - hadn't realised that he played for Ireland at Under 21/19 levels.

For once, the future is looking bright.  Maybe the spectacular red sunset during the first half was a good omen?!

As my long-suffering cousin said: "great game 27 chances created; amongst best of past 40 seasons where I’ve attended over 1350 games"
