Morning on the wharf. Although much beach traffic is expected this weekend, the area is still calm, only a handful of early walkers. Nothing at all like the craziness on the Fourth of July, when folks claimed their territory well before 8 am. Today's headlines: "Santa Cruz County braces for large crowds, influx of trash."  We are braced for an influx of trash. Take it home, people!
