Foraged damson crumble
This afternoon we went for a walk along the canal in the sunshine. We passed a couple of damson trees that were heavy with fruit and were so ripe that a lot had fallen on the ground.
Luckily there were bags in the car but by the time we'd got back to the trees someone else was filling his haversack with them. There were plenty for all though and I made this crumble with some (photographed before the custard went on) with more for the freezer and for jam.
On the canal towpath I met an ex colleague and we had a chat, catching up with things. It turns out that she and her family are blippers too. There are a lot of us about!
