Migrant
It's about this time of year that all the people across the UK running moth traps start to get seriously excited about which migrant species they are going to catch....This year there seem to be lots of Convolvulus hawk moths around, along with other exciting species! Sadly, I haven't as yet managed a Convolvulus hawk, but I did catch this rather lovely Dark sword -grass Agrotis ipsilon, last night.
The Dark Sword-grass is one of our most regular migrants which can be very numerous in some years, It can occur in any month between March and November, but is usually most numerous in the Autumn between august and October, and more numerous in the south.
Poor little Willow had a major set back today, when she had an infection, and was rushed back to GOS, where she is on IV antibiotics. She is feeling a little better this evening thank goodness, but she would really appreciate you prayers right now.
