Home at last

My Mum and Dad are home at last after a delay on the plane again.
We picked them up from Cromarty at just before 10 oclock and went to the Bird hide on the way back. The tide was on the way out but still quite a few birds.
Back to us for lunch and then off to the Airport. We saw a red squirrel running across the road.
After we dropped them off we went to The Bunker, the Local Authority Emergency Centre, in Raigmore, Inverness as part of the Doors Open days. Very interesting especially as a lady visiting had actually worked there in 1951 and we were able to eaves drop on her conversation.
After we went to the Observatory at Culloden. Again interesting as we were able to look through the Solar telescope at the sun. You could see the solar flares. On another telescope with a filter we were able to see a sun spot. Not many at the moment but seven were spotted in a row a few weeks ago.
This Highland cow was one of three that was outside the Observatory. I thought this one looked quite funny with it's mouth full hay :)
