The inside of a bread oven

Work on La Clede continues. The bread oven is being dismantled and being used as a quarry for the wall and steps outside.
Having spent time looking for and at corbelled structures in the Hebrides, one can appreciate the stone masonry skills that went into creating this bread oven. It was actually built just after WW2 by the father of two sisters who are currently staying less than a kilometre along the road. They can remember his making it. Living history!
