Work Boots

We are back in the desert to assist our daughter as she prepares to depart for graduate school at the University of Edinburgh. For the past three months she has been an intern at the Palm Springs Bureau of Land Management Office. During that time she has managed to wear out a pair of hiking boots doing her field work. Lots of time walking across the hot sand has taken its toll on the soles of her boots (as one can see here). The cracked bottoms will be no good in the wet climate of Scotland, so it is time to retire them for good. One less thing to try and get in the suitcase.
