Green Sandpiper

Green Sandpiper before the rain came down and Muscat was washed away! Serious rainfall today and many storms. My birdwatching trip became decidedly dangerous with us having to seek high ground while a torrent of wild water chased us down literally picking up anything in its path, including trees! The weather actually caught us out with only a slim chance of rain, so we were a bit surprised when the track disappeared under water. But this is what can quickly happen in Oman, the rain falls in the mountains and suddenly everywhere is flooded. I hope my birds are safe- we are very lucky we saw cars carried away in the water, the people had abandoned them, before they were swept away.
