Beer Garden
It's been a while. All of July was spent preparing to move from Spain to the UK. I say move but what I really mean is extricate. Try telling the Spanish banks, phone company, utility suppliers, traffico that you want to close all accounts and see where that gets you. You will instantly metamorphosize into a character from a Franz Kafka novel.
August was spent in the self same imaginary novel trying to get new UK bank, utility, phone, internet, cars and driving licenses. It's not any better over here. This is made all the more difficult since after living in Spain for 13 years, we now have zero credit rating in the UK. We were advised to lie about our past address's by one company. It worked! Well at least for that particular business. We still can't get a phone contract despite the fact we're home owners and have never defaulted on a debt in our entire lives. Not that you get to speak to anyone about it. Everything is now done through a dystopian maze of phone options. Press one to access your account; press two to be transfered to another list; press three to listen to muzak for an hour: press four to end it all.
Nevertheless, it's good to be back. September is here and I can now think about getting back to work and maybe getting back to semi-regular blipping as well.
I intended to take a pretty picture of Chester to start the blip ball rolling again but hey, beer is always close to my heart and it's so good to taste all the lovely English ales that I've missed so much. I wonder when the bin men will come to collect my empties?
