Margate Sunset
I caught this wonderful sunset over Margate Bay in East Kent a place that is bursting with artistic energy from traditional, holiday-town charms produced by local artists to the world-class art gallery which the Turner Contemporary has become. At the time of writing this item one of the most prominent commentators on contemporary society and culture, Grayson Perry, was finishing his Summer run with the exhibition ‘Provincial Punk’.
With sandy beaches and sparkling bays, a mix of cool café culture and tempting retro/nicknack shops, Margate is undergoing a cultural renaissance but what do the residents, local businesses and artists think of these changing times?
