Sun-caught spade

The day passed tidying up the garden after the wet we have had. I was amazed at the size and continued (touch wood) blight-freeness of my outdoor tomatoes.

They are a variety (see extra) called 'Fandango' from Kings Seeds and they ripen late and ripen well off the bush and have a fantastic texture and flavour. I didn't start them from seed until quite late into the season and I am most impressed.

It was a right gloomy day and not warm. Although Morris, puffing up the hill with his bike, claimed he was sweating (but then I've never seen him with so many layers on).

I managed to give away some cucumbers to another gardener and sauteed sliced runner beans with a few tomatoes, red onion and garlic for our tea. They were delicious.

The sun came out briefly through lead grey clouds and shone off the propped up stainless steel border spade. Click.
