#YOYP 2018

What a privilege my job is. Today I got to spend most of my day with so many amazing, inspiring, compassionate and insightful young people - totally uplifting and great fun.

Tonight was our first co-design event with young Scots from across the country about their ideas for the forthcoming Year of Young People 2018 here in Scotland. So many fabulous suggestions - and powerful visions about the country they would like to see, with a focus on equality, diversity, kindness and no poverty.

They give me so much hope. And I needed that today, after all those front pages which left me howling with grief for those drowned children and their families.
