A slice of Lesley's life

Back to School Part I

Doesn't she look odd on her own? So excited about going back she was up and ready to leave a good 10minutes before we needed to. Lovely to see her run off into the playground and reunite with her friends. A very good day for her.

And a good day for Jackson who worked really hard to get the rest of his homework done, and do a trial walk to school to check he is completely confident of the route; for his peace of mind, not ours. We know he'll be fine but it is great he is so keen to work it all out. Big step for him; especially as he has missed the transitioning to being out and about on your own stage and is doing it in one big swoop. Bag packed. And a final tie tying session with Carlos. A few moments of anxiety but overall he has gone to bed tired but fairly relaxed and I think more excited than nervous about his big day tomorrow.

As for me, I like to think I'm a fairly organised person but even I find the amount of admin and logistics involved at the start of the year really quite overwhelming. I have churned through a ton of it today and am alarmed both at how much I have done and how much there is still left to do.

Meanwhile this one had a fabulous day and ran out of school full of joy. Sweetest moment of the day was coming in and her big brother asking how her day had been.
