Percussion

The band are currently working on "Reflections on Swan Lake", the set test piece for this weekend's British Open competition at Symphony Hall, Birmingham.

I'm on timps, and alongside the more normal instruments, I need a cello bow.  I have to take a cymbal, turn it upside down, place it on top of a timp, then play the cymbal using a bow.  I then need to move the timp pedal up and down to make an "eerie wailing noise"....
