Looking down

The old bit of Bonnieux is perched on the hillside and has built up over centuries, ever since times became dangerous after the collapse of the Roman Empire and people sought refuge in the hills.

This view is of the new bit of Bonnieux, down at the foot of the hill. The New Church replaced the Old Church in 1870 and houses clustered around it.
   
After lunch and shopping in the village, we were climbing all the way back to the top. This viewpoint is a good resting place.
