Sunday Walking Market
Travel Diary:
The train arrived in Chiang Mai late (I think that happens a lot here). We got off the train and asked Henry and Laura if they wanted to get a ride into town with us.
As soon as we left the station we were mobbed by taxi drivers of various types. They kept stealing us from eachother.
We found our guesthouse, wished Henry and Laura a good holiday and walked into the Bed and Terrace guesthouse Soi 5, Kotchasan Road. It was a really nice place (I love Hostel World).
After booking a vegetarian cooking course for Tuesday the 19th and a day at the elephant nature park on the 20th we headed into Chiang Mai fir the Sunday Walking market.
The market was brilliant! Chiang Mai has a completely different, calmer atmosphere than Bangkok. We wandered around without getting hassled (too much) and ended eating a lot and buying more, mainly gifts for the family.
On the way back to the guesthouse we stopped for a drink by the canal, Courtney had a (strong) pina colada and I tried my first Singha beer.
