Framed by the Ruins
The cliffs that you can see through the open windows are on one of our Great Lakes...Lake Michigan.
The ruins are part of an old town called Fayette. In its prime, 500 people worked at, and lived in or near the foundry.
It produced pig iron, and was only open for 24 years, from 1867 to 1891. During that time, it produced 229,000 tons of iron.
It is now a state park, and has been since 1959.
Always fun to see a little history.
