I had a variety of ideas for my 500th blip but a viewing of the house this morning put a stop to me using the kitchen table as a macro studio. So - we had a trip out to Chastleton House instead, where the family's plans also didn't quite go as expected. Having backed the wrong side in the civil war the house and family fortunes slowly declined over the next 400 years.  Now preserved rather than restored by the National Trust it is a fascinating place to visit.
