Blue Tit.........

It seems to have been a bumper year for the  Blue Tits, well especially in our back garden, they're zipping around from first light until dusk. Never stopping for longer than what seems a fraction of a second, to grab either a Peanut or Sunflower heart. I don't think they were ever prone to predation from the local cats as they're not floor feeder, but I do think that feeding them throughout the year has certainly helped to buoy local numbers. Talking of cats, they were always a problem in the garden, always one somewhere in the garden ready to pounce, but, touch wood I haven't seen a cat in the back garden for months. Whether or not it has something to do with the people over the back now having an Alsatian, or perhaps its the fact that we have foxes living under one of our sheds, either way the garden seems to be a safer place for the birds than it has in the past, well it is until Mr Sparrow hawk comes a calling.
