Stunted

I learnt a few things about home grown carrots today, largely that they can be highly entertaining. We'll put more effort into our preparatory digging next year!

So the whiff of the new school year has reached the chidlers and the atmosphere in the house has changed. There's talk of excitement and nerves. Today uniform was checked and extras ordered. Miss B had a trim at the hairdressers and the school-shoe shopping was nailed. 

Nailed as we managed to be served after waiting a mere 5 minutes and each child brought home their favourite from the selection on the shelf. Miss B has been declaring for some time that her feet were shrinking and today she would not be needing new school shoes as her old ones would still fit. She was appeasing herself that she could still look at the slip on party shoes in the shop even if she wasn't going to be buying anything... Her fears were overturned; her feet had in fact increased a size and she hauled, wait for it, slip on SCHOOL shoes... the girl is in heaven!
