The magic of film

This morning at work we had a class of thirty 7-year-olds in for a tour of the projection box and to see some short animations. We had to split them into three groups for the tours, and our projectionist Ally did a marvellous job of explaining how both film and digital projection works, three times in the space of 45 minutes. They each got a foot-long piece of lovely, tactile 35mm film to take away (just scrap, nothing precious!), and, being children of the digital age, they were fascinated by it. Smashing. :-)
