That's how they do it!
Popped over to see Uncle A this morning. He's definitely looking more settled in - the boxes of books have been emptied onto the bookshelves, and removed from the lounge. The big TV is set up, albeit with a substitute remote from John Lewis. Missing pills have been found, and - most important of all - a daily Scotsman (local rag) is now being delivered.
From there we took a bus to the end of the Meadows, and had a stroll through them. The bus was very crowded, so I let Archie sit on my knee, where he sat looking around like a wee person. He need not get used to that seating arrangement on the bus!
As we passed by the big tent and big crane, I realised how the structure was built, and taken apart. The crane suspends it, and each level is screwed on or unscrewed. Clever. I thought someone had to keep climbing up to the very top.
Archie was a big hit with the workers in hi-viz vests. He went through the fence and poked around, and then couldn't find his way out, silly dog.
An hour on the phone with Virgin Media, to sort out niggles. Then we wandered down the road to visit Rufus and his mum. Rufus is very sweet, and friendly, but is quite old, so doesn't really play. Archie doesn't know what to make of him. A pleasant hour or so over a G&T for the adults.
I was supposed to be meeting my bro and sis-in-law for lunch, but the reminder email sent by them from the restaurant took two hours to arrive! Virgin Media said that they may take up to 72 hours! What's the point of they're not instant?
Mind you, my calendar and reminders don't work if I put the event in the wrong date! DUH!
