Dead or alive ....

Another hectic one !. Started off tagging 15 calves and moving them with their mothers to another field. Then went away down to Bonnyrigg to check the straw, which wasn't brilliant, but rain forecast. So,back up the road, baler on,back down the road and started by lunch time. All going well till about 4pm when one of the baler ram catches sheared off, allowing the ram to over extend, causing the hydraulic hoses to rip out the ram,and a good covering of oil every where.
So ,trundle the 6 miles back home, strip it all to bits, into the land rover, away to the dealers, got bits( new,and stolen off another baler),back home, repaired and back baling by 7pm !
The Edinburgh festival fireworks were on at 9.30pm. Listened on the radio, but was down at the bottom of a gully,so couldn't see much in the sky.
Home by 11pm,late tea and bed.
This is one of 17 poles and pylons that criss  cross the field I was in. Made me smile,Danger Of Death, as it is behind the grave yard, you can see some head stones in the back ground
