Shhhh! The Heron is in the Creek...

We have a Great Blue Heron that makes secret visits to the creek down behind the house. I was upstairs doing something or other today when The Husband called out "there's a herring!" He's such a card. I clattered down the stairs, grabbed my camera, and got several shots of the heron standing there majestically. Hoping to get a somewhat clearer shot [which is to say, not thru the dirty kitchen window] I opened the back door and stuck my head and camera out. At which point the heron turned and walked at a very measured and dignified pace down the creek and out of view. The extra is a color version.
