Goldie Jewel

Mom died Aug. 6th 1989 from cancer after 9 months of suffering.  She was the oldest daughter of 8 children of J.A. Stapp & Mae Stapp.  She lived through the hard times of disease (1917 influenza, Small Pox, a year long leg inflection) the poor farm life in early Oklahoma,  the misfortune of having the Depression end her teaching career, the fear of being a widow in Dec. of 1941 after 21 months of marriage.  She suffered loneliness & heartbreak 15 years after her soulmate was taken as a result of bad medicine.  Mom & Dad likely would have lived another 10+ years with better medical.  As someone else said, she was well named a "GOLDEN JEWEL".
