Moat Race

We went across to Wells this afternoon for the annual charity raft races on the moat around the Bishop's Palace, organised by the local Lions Club and Air Cadets, a fun event which raises a lot of money for good causes and for which contestants spend a lot of time building their rafts and making fancy dress costumes. My favourite was a Dr Who themed raft based on a Tardis on its side.

In this race, our friend's son was competing in the white raft (black T-shirt) while the woman at the front near side of the red boat is our former, and very hardworking and popular, local MP Tessa Munt, who had gamely volunteered to take part.
