Replace a lock and get a few keys cut - simples?

NO!

Faulty lock, buy a new one, replace faulty one, all good so far.  Get four new keys cut to add to two keys provided so that everyone who needs one has one and then new lock turns out to be faulty.  

Large DIY store is happy to replace faulty lock but £15 bill for extra keys is not their problem - ......"take that up with lock manufacturer". (watch this space.)

Replacement new lock fitted and new extra keys cut (again).  Everyone happy except me who probably had better things to do on a bank holiday Monday.
