Busy Bee
While we've been away neighbours have been looking after the plants in the "satsumary" and they've been doing a fine job! Everything is growing like mad, these morning glory plants are doing their best to take over but have stiff competition from the mandevilla and the jasmine!
Such a shame the flowers don't last, but at least the bees are making the most of them.
Before the rain set in Mike, Ollie and I went down to the allotment and lifted the onions, and a row of potatoes, and picked most of the runner broad beans. 1.5kg of them now shelled, blanched and in the deep freeze!
Feels great to come home to so much veg in the garden ready to eat - cabbage, beans, cauliflower, tomatoes, radishes, lettuce and potatoes - and so many sweet peas ready to cut too! Just waiting for the peas themselves to fatten up a bit now . . . nothing tastier than fresh sweet little peas, straight from the pod. We just need a few days of good weather . . .
