A wish and a prayer
D, S and I went to the Open Day at Samye Ling Tibetan Monastery this afternoon.
Here is Sarah under the "Clootie Tree". There is a tradition in Tibet as well as in Scotland of tying a piece of cloth (clootie) to the branch of a tree, and making a wish or prayer.
This yew tree was covered in strips, old and new, from hundreds of past visitors.
Samye Ling was busy today, with people enjoying the grounds, temple and peaceful gardens, which looked wonderful in the sunshine.
