Nantes: mechanical ant with seat and handlebar

We arrived too late in the day to see the mechanical elephant roaming the streets of Nantes, but this giant ant gives an idea of the inventiveness to be found at the workshops of les Machines de l'ile.  A touch of Jules Verne.

Nantes is well worth a visit on account of these workshops alone, but has plenty of other delights as well.
