To The Rescue
The last day of our short break to Cornwall. After another hearty breakfast and having packed the car we spent a few hours at Porthmeor Beach, St Ives. Me and D had a great time body-boarding and generally having fun in the waves - much quieter on changeover day thankfully.
For lunch we used some Pizza Express vouchers that Matt and Steph gave us for our Wedding Anniversary (in June). Despite the warnings I went for the 'American Hottest' Pizza and it was scrummy.
It was Lifeboat Day so we had a look round the stalls, did some prezzie shopping and, as we headed back to the car, a helicopter from RNAS Culdrose did a simulated rescue in conjunction with the lifeboat crew. It's a pity we couldn't have stayed longer but a pasty consignment awaited at our favourite pasty shop in Helston. What a brilliant job the RNLI do.
We combined the pasty run with a Costa rendezvous with my best mate, and our best man 30 years ago. Great to catch up with him.
A couple of extras from the last day of our holiday too.
