A Boot Camp Sunday

The diary of a boot camp Sunday.
3am-Wide awake and filled with the anxieties and worries which never fail to assail the insomniac at these dark hours before dawn.

7 am- up and suitably attired for a short cycle run. The sun is shining. Why am I not feeling bright eyed and bushy tailed?

8am- out for Sunday toast at Loudon's. There's a lot of toast.

9 am- cycle down to Musselburgh via the Prom at Portobello which seems relatively quiet after the shenanigans of yesterday. Downhill with a tail wind is good.
Stop to take photographs of white sailing boat and then views of Edinburgh from the harbour at Musselburgh. The tide is out......again.

10am-  arrive back at Peter's Yard and find a seat outside to have a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice. Uphill against the admittedly light wind is not good.
The sun is still shining, people arrive on foot, on bikes, pushing prams, and  in wheel chairs, to claim their seats in the sun. The place is buzzing.

11am- Meanwhile I am knackered. All I want now is to sit down at home and read the Sunday Papers.

12 noon- the sun is still shining. I am still tired. I'm not sure I'll sign up for the next Sunday boot camp.
