Shifting the calves

One way to shift the calves into another paddock is by putting a bit of milk in the calf-a-teria and slowly move it with the calves trying to suck out the milk.  It works a treat, and is far easier than trying to move them with the dog.

This is our youngest group of calves.  They get milk twice a day, and along with grass, also get hay and calf pellets to help develop their stomachs.

It turned out to be a gorgeous day, reaching 20 degrees C.  It was lovely to be outside and I'm sure the animals where enjoying the warmth as well.
