What if?

Wingstem

Wingstem or Verbesina alternifolia, looks at first glance a bit like a sunflower, but it has nothing to do with sunflowers. It is common enough at this time of the year in fields and hedgerows and grows to about five feet. It gets its name from the stem which has two flat projections on the sides. Hopefully I can show this in the extras.
Bert went down to see Lloyd and his burnt out barn this morning. Things could have been worse. Although all the wood is gone and several mowers are fried, the fire did not spread to the house or the other barn and none of his tractors was in there, nor was his wood splitter. I think we all feel we have had enough excitement for the time being!
