Thingvellir, Iceland
Drekkingarhylur at Thingvellir. Went to the site for the oldest Parliament in the world. From 930 to 1798, this was were the Althing convened. Drekkingarhylur means the Drowning Pool. 18 women were convicted and drowned here. The river also runs in the continental rift between North America on the left and Euroasia on the right. After Thingvellir we went north on an gravel road through the mountain pass at Kaldidalur, stopping by the waterfalls at Barnafoss and Hraunfossar before ending at Borganes. Extra pictures are the views at Borganes and Hraunfossar.
