Festival fun

This weekend marks the culmination of the week-long Kirkintilloch Canal Festival.

I went through for a wander this afternoon and there were boat trips up and down the Forth & Clyde Canal and a whole raft (pun intended!) of activities for all ages taking place in and around Southbank Marina. Apparently, today was 'Get Active Saturday' but I settled for a walk along the canal bank for a kilometre or two.

Tomorrow (Sunday) is 'Gala Sunday' and, as well as activities on and around the Canal, there will be activities in the museum and library and along Cowgate, where there will be market stalls, vintage vehicle displays and all sort of other attractions (at least according to the festival website). I may well return!

There's every chance the characters I photographed this afternoon may also pay a return visit.
