Saddle-billed stork-Ephippiorhynchus Senegalensis

This is a huge bird that regularly reaches a height of 150 cm and a  240 - 270 cm wingspan! Read more about them on Wikipedia. They are absolutely stunning!


We visited the Monte Casino Bird Garden in Fourways, Johannesburg with our loved ones from Sweden today. Enjoyed the 30 minute 'Flight of Fantasy Show' and then strolled through the whole aviary, saw loads of bird species, frogs, reptiles, mammals, almost 3 hours of enjoyment and awe! Wish I could publish a picture of each and every stunning exhibit we saw!
