This is our longtime, very trusting and very hungry Mrs magpie. Photo taken with her standing just inside our open family room window, waiting for some mince to feed her baby. Because we had the window open this afternoon, she and the second Mrs magpie came to the window 3 times, looking for food. Photo taken from a distance of around one metre!

I then gave her a rolled up ball of mince to make it easy to carry back to the nest at the bottom of our garden.

Sometimes Raj will chase them away but mostly he sits and watches. The magpies never dive bomb us or our pets, but they do dive bomb the dog next door. They sure know what they are doing and who to trust or not trust.
