Things that go bump in the night...
Team Appin take their stock car to the evening meeting at Cowdenbeath but feel the need for a pit stop (aka splash and dash) at the mobile chippy down at the harbour.
For the purists…
Harry Burgoyne was a 1980's Saloon Stox driver and was awesome to watch at both Newtongrange (Nitten) and Cowdenbeth (Cowan'beef) His battles with Wee Hamish were epically gladiatorial. The stock car transporter is based on a Guy Arab LUF with Alexander body as used by Alexander's. It went to Fife division and was sold to a dealer in Kirkcaldy before joining the fleet of MacLennan at Spittalfied with others from the class. In my Port Appin world it ended it's days with the Burgoynes as a stock car transporter. The stock car started life as a Ford Cortina Mk2.
The other bus is an ex United Bristol J with ECW body. I modelled it in the style of one of Saunders' mobile fish and chip shops which were common sights at fairgrounds around the UK.
Neither vehicles were modelled with Port Appin in mind so this is an excuse to give them a rare outing - from the bookshelf in my office.
