Gravel Pits
Visited the gravel pits again this afternoon. It was really quite breezy and very difficult to capture the Damsel Fly and Red Darter. The sun also disappeared so their activity dipped. I went back to the lily pond and had an interesting char with three of the Wildlife Trust staff and volunteer who were beginning to compile a list of tasks for completion in the autumn.
After they had gone I discovered one lily just in bloom, probably the last one for this year. In the main lake connected to the lily pond was a solitary swan and this is my blip for the day.
Extra photos has the last lily and a Red Darter.
