The day of the midge

Had to go into Kirkwall first thing to pick up a new flue pipe so I had to empty the car.  The midges were merciless so it took me no time.  At mid-day we crossed to Hoy for a meeting of the Friends of the Hoy Kirk.  Photography was well and truly off the menu in Hoy because of the midges.  The one thing about crossing Scapa Flow on the MV Graemsay is that there are no midges at sea.
