Sunset On The Lake

Massabesic.  Still trying to find those elusive loons.  I had laid good plans, but not as easy as it seemed.  Jon and I met in Manchester for dinner at one of my favorite pizza places - 900 Degrees.  Jon thinks it's overpriced, but the pizza is wood fired, very thin crust and the combinations are very unusual (Granny Smith apples and cartelized onions).  Anyway, I found a "Groupon", my first, for $30 which only cost $16 so I convinced him.  We met at 5:30 with the idea that we'd eat and drive the 10 minutes to the lake and hopefully catch a sunset with the loons.  Well, it seems that a lot of other people decided it was a good night for pizza too and we waited the painful hour for our order to come, an even more painful 20 minutes to see our bill and then found out (what a deal!) that we hadn't spent $30 on food yet, so another painful 15 minutes to get canolis to go for desert.  We barely made it to the lake as the sun was already set, lost that "golden hour" and it was too dark to hike into the trails to find the loons!  The pizza was delicious, the lake was beautiful and the company excellent.  Sometimes you have to look at what you DO have.
