Winter Luxury Harvested...
... seeded and baked. It was an unexpected necessity. When I picked my personal squash from the dead vine I noticed the soft underside had someone boring into it.
No one was in there when I opened it up. But with a tiny spoon I scooped out about a dozen or so seeds for next year, pushed the plug back in, and roasted it @ 400º F for an hour.
It smells wonderful so I am not sure the directions about setting it aside for another month or more to cure are really necessary.
In any case, winter has arrived early at this house.
Another wonderful weather/garden day. Not quite 70º
